The evolution of TIM's network architecture and its management

Telecommunications operators are heavily investing in modernizing their network infrastructure to reach the ambitious goal of coping with the current unprecedented traffic growth, while reducing both capital and operational costs.
Software Defined Networks (SDN) and Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) are the most promising technologies to achieve both results. SDN enables enable automation of control and management activities, while NFV accelerates the introduction of new network services with improved scalability and flexibility.

The seminar will give an overview of the current trends in the TIM network development and management.
