Powers and compensation in systems with nonsinusoidal and asymmetrical voltages and currents

Fundamentals of the Currents’ Physical Components (CPC) – based power theory, presently the most advanced power theory of single- and three-phase systems with nonsinusoidal and asymmetrical voltages and currents, would be presented at the seminar. Interpretation of power related phenomena in terms of the CPC-based power theory and its application for methods of reactive compensators design for single- and three-phase systems and for control of switching compensators would be presented as well.
The main approaches to interpretation and description of power related phenomena in systems with nonsinusoidal and asymmetrical voltages and currents, as developed by various “schools” of the power theory, along with discussion of the most common misinterpretations of power phenomena will be presented as well.
