ComTalks 3: “Networking at Global Scale” - a talk with Mattia Cantono
First seminar of the ComTalks series
Mattia Cantono obtained the Master Degree and PhD at PoliTo in Telecommunications, then in 2018 joined Google in Sunnyvale, California where he is a Senior Network Engineer in the Optical Networking Team working on the optical network architectures for highly available, scalable and cost-effective global connectivity.
Google's products like Search, YouTube, Gmail are used by billions of people and Google Cloud hosts popular services accessed worldwide. Behind such systems there is a network that must enable low-latency, high throughput, high capacity, high availability and secure access. In this talk Mattia Cantono will present the optical communications that enable global connectivity at scale - so that you can enjoy Google’s services as usual.
Moderated by professor Vittorio Curri (Politecnico di Torino - OptCom Group)
The seminar will be available on Zoom platform at this link
After the talks, a Q&A session will follow to discuss with the Speakers about their experiences, and motivation in taking their master studies.
