BioRoburplus: presentation event of the green hydrogen production plant from biogas
After 4 years of research, the project to use landfill waste, organic waste and sewage sludge in the production of hydrogen will end at the end of June. The BioRoburplus project supported by the Fuel Cells and Hydrogen Joint Undertaking (FCH JU) in the European Union’s Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation program has developped a fuel processor able to produce pure hydrogen from biogas. The hydrogen obtained in this way will be used to produce electric energy by using fuel cells.
The project was aimed at demonstrating the economic feasibility of hydrogen production, in order to support the integration of renewable energy sources into the energy systems at distributed level, so developing sustainable technologies dedicated to a decentralized market. The final objective is to ensure the supply of clean, safe and reliable energy, in a competitive economic environment, contributing to reduce the effects of climate change and pollution and addressing the persistent issue of oil reserves depletion at the same time.
These were years of intense work but full of satisfaction, declares Debora Fino, project coordinator and professor at the Department of Applied Science and Technology.
On June 30th there will be the presentation of the green hydrogen production plant from biogas at the Ecological Pole of ACEA Pinerolese Industriale.
