Abstract:
November 14, 2021: For the first time in over 4 years, the Bitcoin protocol has been updated. This seminar will delve into the new features brought to the Bitcoin protocol by the Taproot soft-fork, which includes a new digital signature scheme (Schnorr) and new capabilities to improve scalability and transaction privacy (Taproot and Tapscript). The focus will not only be on how these updates work from a technical standpoint, but also on why they are so valuable, to the point that Taproot probably represents the largest and most anticipated update ever.
